Is Remote Human Factors Testing an Acceptable Approach for Human Factors Validation

چکیده
Human factors (HF) validation of medical devices is vital for approval use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Historically, testing has taken place within laboratory-controlled environments where conditions are controlled, executed in accordance with similar circumstance. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, laboratory research decreased a wide range disciplines or instances continued masks many other COVID mitigations. As result, device manufacturers who need provide human receive U.S. (FDA) were impacted. Remote usability testing, while fairly new phenomenon physical devices, affords ability functionally test product naturalistic that indistinguishable from settings which they would be used (e.g. user’s home). However, published literature support whether remote HF could potentially an acceptable approach rare. The objective this study replicate objectives structure original in-person study, was conducted using migraine patients performed one unaided simulated injection 2-step autoinjector. methodology been modified adapt testing. This paper reports procedures developed ongoing endeavor.

Introducing a New Model for Individual Cognitive Factors Influencing Human Error Based on DEMATEL Approach
Background and Objectives: The recognition of a system failure causes and their related factors are considered as the most important factor in preventing accident occurrence in different organizations including industries. Human error is a known important factor in unpredictable events of which cognitive factors are the most influential ones. The purpose of this study was to introduce a new mod...
متن کاملSociotechnical Human Factors Involved in Remote Online Usability Testing of Two eHealth Interventions
BACKGROUND Research in the fields of human performance technology and human computer interaction are challenging the traditional macro focus of usability testing arguing for methods that help test moderators assess "use in context" (ie, cognitive skills, usability understood over time) and in authentic "real world" settings. Human factors in these complex test scenarios may impact on the qualit...

The advancement of the European rail system into an interoperable system is currently taking place and evolves in several phases: the technical interoperability has to be fulfilled by the new European Train Control System (ETCS) and the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), the operational interoperability will be ensured by a set of harmonised European operational rules and the last...
متن کاملSoluble Leishmanin as an Ideal Reagent for Skin Testing in Human Leishmaniasis
Delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction measured by skin testing, is an important tool for evaluation of cellular immune response in leishmaniasis and has been used recently as an indication of exposure to infection. Skin testing in leishmania infection needs a standard reagent with high specificity, sensitivity, and potency. In the present work, a soluble leishmanin, and three whole parasite p...
متن کاملA fuzzy approach to the evaluation of human factors in ultrasonic nondestructive examinations
Human factors are among the main elements affecting the reliability of nondestructive examinations (NDE). In a man-machine system, human reliability is affected by many factors (performance shaping factors) whose influence on reliability cannot be easily expressed quantitatively. This paper identifies and ranks 59 perform-ance shaping factors by using a fuzzy reasoning method and proposes a pro...
